Nigeria is experiencing too many premature de@ths because we have abandoned our traditional ways and embraces the ways of the 'Oyibo' - Yul Edochie

Nollywood actor Yul Edochie recently sparked a thought-provoking conversation on his Facebook page, attributing the rise in premature deaths to the abandonment of traditional African practices in favor of Western lifestyles.

Edochie lamented the gradual erosion of indigenous customs, suggesting that a return to these traditional ways could be key to improving overall well-being and longevity.

In his post, Edochie highlighted the contrast between the holistic, community-centered approach of traditional African living and the more individualistic, fast-paced Western lifestyle.

He argued that traditional practices, which often include natural remedies, strong familial ties, and community support systems, have historically played a significant role in maintaining health and balance.

Edochie's message has resonated with many, sparking debates about the potential benefits of integrating traditional practices with modern advancements.

Critics, however, caution against romanticizing the past, emphasizing the importance of evidence-based approaches to health and wellness.
